“App store apps are always hard to place a price on. In most other marketplaces, games that retail for the same price would be expected to have a similar amount of content, or provide the same level of value. In the app store, prices are so ridiculously low that these expectations are frequently shown to be impossible to meet. Cut the Rope: Experiments (69p/$0.99) by ZeptoLab demonstrates this situation perfectly. It’s essentially the same game as it’s older brother, but with a few different gameplay elements, a lot less content and the same price tag. Does that mean that it should be avoided? Never. ZeptoLab have taken a low risk strategy with their Cut The Rope sequel, and in doing so have guaranteed that it provides more of the same charming, moreish puzzle action that app store customers have grown to love.
If you’ve not played Cut The Rope before, the game requires you to get the candy hanging on the end of a rope into the wide-open mouth of Om Nom by slicing ropes, making the candy float upwards in bubbles and more. Each level contains three stars. If you can get the candy to touch all of these stars before Om Nom swallows it whole, you get extra bragging rights, a higher place on the game leaderboards and potentially a few achievements as well…”
